Home    Administration    Choir

The choir was organized in 1917 by Professor Thomas Nassi.  Born in Dardha Albanian, March 23, 1892, he came to the Boston area and began to organize and train church choirs for the Cathedral of St. George in Boston, and churches in Worcester and Southbridge, Massachusetts from 1916 to 1918.   Professor Nassi graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music in 1918, and was first to arrange the Byzantine liturgical responses in Albanian for mixed choirs.  Today the choir continues to sing some liturgical responses in Albanian, but most of the responses are sung in English.
